Atom Eve is one of my favorite women in comics. Hell, Invincible itself is my favorite superhero comic ever created. But Eve herself is something very unlike the typical comic superheroine. She abandoned superheroing for a while to use her powers to make the third world more lush and fertile for its people, focuses more on managing global threats than running around in tights and punching people, and has a much broader view of the role of people with powers in general. She's deep, she's interesting, and she's a changing person who has grown and developed a great deal over the course of the series.

And then she gained a lot of weight. It was a divisive move on Kirkman's part, and one I applaud. She's now a truly unique hero inside and out. She isn't self-conscious about her looks, her boyfriend embraced her and loves her for how she looks, and it's almost DARING the shallow dickbags out there to come out and say "Change her back because I think all superhero chicks need to be f###able in order for me to care about them!"

...Though I personally think she's still exceedingly attractive at any size. But it was a bold, brave move, and I hope Kirkman and Co. never go back on it.
