The word creepy can be liberally applied to Tokyo Ghoul in many ways. 
Many of the characters can come across as sympathetic though, despite their lives as bio-enhanced anthropophagous monsters disguised as Hollywood-beautiful people. They don't like being Toko's urban legend made horriyingly real, but there they are.... The ones that fully embrace their monster side ruin all the fun for everyone, of course!
