This is my entry for the Marla Bea Charity Benefit Auction, with proceeds going to support Breast Cancer treatment and awareness and such. It's a cause both Comfort and I are way in support of.
The requirements for the MBB Auction were to pick any strong female character and to use pink somehow. So I, being the massive Mass Effect dork I am, used this opportunity to finally do some ME fanart. It was between Ashley and Tali, and Tali just barely won out due to her higher adorable quotient.
To say I'm a ME fan is kind of like saying the ocean is a big body of water. Technically true, but it doesn't begin to get the whole picture across. And Tali is one of my favorite characters (as she is for many, many others). Balanced her cuteness with a big honkin' Claymore shotgun. Someday I hope to do a full-on Mass Effect pin-up with all the characters being all bad-assey and such, but this'll do for now.
Anyway, this piece goes up for auction soon. I'll announce in my journal when it begins, so keep an eye open!
Now that I was reminded about this from looking at your sketchbook, I needed to go back and fav it. Now that I've actually played ME2, I absolutely love Tali. She's awesome in every way possible.
Actually, she absolutely kicks ass against Geth and mechs. Her hacking gets them fighting each other. Her drone can pretty handy for distracting enemies and making them easy targets, even the big ones. I use her all the time.
She's... okay. Hacking is pretty alright, though you have to strip all their defenses first (and at that point you may as well just blow the thing up and be done with it), but I never found the drone to be that helpful, nor any of her other abilities. And forcing her to use the shotgun or pistol when she's one of the most vulnerable characters means she'll die ALL THE TIME.
I just ran with Garrus to deal with synthetics and either Samara for crowd control or Grunt for raw power.
Haven't found much use for Samara and Garrus is a death-magnet for me. Not as bad as Sten in Dragon Age: Origins (I swear that the act of drawing his sword caused instant death), but he's definitely the most likely to die for me. My weaker members tend to survive pretty well, if only because they stay behind cover. That's why they give so many characters; everyone runs their squads differently.
