Here's a little something I've been working on the last couple weeks. It is the first Ninja Turtles piece I've ever done in full color, that I remember. I probably did a few when I was a kid - I was a HUGE Turtles nut as a kid.
Oh... and I'm a Donatello. Totally. My wife
is a Leonardo. We fit so well together!
I wanted to take some of the color theory stuff I'd played around with way back on my Catwoman/Black Cat piece [link]
and push it farther using the things I'd learned since. I also experimented with some hand-applied skin texturing and splotching, which I think turned out alright. I've got a close-up here: [link]
This was a lot of fun, particularly bringing out the personalities. Tried to keep them feeling youthful and teenagey, which tends to get lost in a lot of treatments. This piece draws a lot from the TMNT animated film by Imagi, which I absolutely adored. IF you haven't seen it and you're a turtles fan, shame on you! [link]
