Harley and Ivy

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy commission from Baltimore Comic Con 2011; Copic marker, ink, white paint pen.

This was a split-commission; I did Ivy and my wife did Harley.

This was a breakthrough marker drawing for me. Everything just came together. Maybe it was because I had just gotten new convention sketchbook (always inspiring), maybe it was that this was a take-home job and I worked on it in Philly at the home of our dear friends Bryan and Judy Glass, maybe I was just at a place to make a jump, but I feel like this was a turning point for my markers.

I don't know. Don't want to spend forever talking about how proud I am of myself. It does look much cooler in person. The scanner took away some of the smoothness. But still, I like how it came out.
