Game of Thrones (Spoilers) by AdamWithers Game of Thrones (Spoilers) by AdamWithers
Personal piece, 2014; Pencil, Photoshop PS5.

***UPDATED: Now current through all of season 4***

***PLEASE! For the sake of anyone looking or reading the comments - NO SPOILERS! We can talk about what's happened so far, but not the stuff that hasn't happened yet.***

This piece is current as of the finale of Season 3 - PLEASE don't talk about the fates of characters in the second half of the third book or beyond. It ruins things for everybody.

So, this was an idea that I was shocked - SHOCKED - had not been done yet. When it occurred to me, I scoured the Googles to see whether anybody else had done it, but nothing came up. So here I am, sitting on this goldmine idea. In case anybody isn't getting the reference, this piece is an homage to the classic John Byrne cover to Uncanny X-Men #141 - the start of the Days of Future Past storyline. With the upcoming movie, you'll probably be seeing this cover more often.

I selected Daeni, Tyrion, and Jon for the front because they seem to have the strongest "Plot Armor." Whatever else might appear to happen to them, I suspect we'll be seeing them through to the end of the story. Though god knows I could be wrong. That Martin SOB loves toying with our emotions.

Here's a detail compilation of the headshots from the poster without all the postery effects:

Lies!  The Hound is not slain!  you don't write a character like that and then kill him offscreen! I demand a body!

He didn't die off-screen. He died on-screen, we just didn't see the last breath. We've been trained by typical media to expect resurrections and fake-outs and melodramatic malarky like that, but GoT dashes all those expectations and does so while leaving a field strewn with the bodies of people you though were the main characters. While I won't rule out Clegane's return entirely, I fully expect he will stay as dead as all the other characters we didn't personally watch die, but who nevertheless have remained quite finished.

I know the chances are slim, but a girl can dream.  At least Clegane made the chapters he was in interesting...unlike other characters who shall remain nameless plot golems...who move the plot but have little to no personality of their own

That does happen sometimes. Perhaps a brave choice, highlighting characters who happen to be dull people. Perhaps it's just an unfortunate byproduct of the author being more interested in certain things than his audience is.

Shortly into season 5, I suspect. This thing will be in-flux to the very end - that's part of the fun! :)

I think you have the main characters down. Really hope Arya and Sansa are going to make it through.

I hope so, too. But I think the real question is less about their survival, and more about how surviving might transform them, and what they're turned into in the process. If Arya becomes a bloothirsty, merciless assassin and Sansa just another Littlefinger/Circe (Circefinger?), then what have they gained other than just living?

I think Arya will find herself in a position she doesn't want to be in. She's a kid, who doesn't know what she wants beyond the next day. She is also more of less 'safe'
As for Sansa: I fear she will become a greater monster than Peter Bailish, Cercei Lannister and Margery Tyrell combined. Too bad her dire wolf is gone...
I am very curious about the future of John Snow (there are various options, and most of them are cool!), Its' getting worse and worse to be Tyrion. And as for Daenarys, she may have found some answers to questions she never asked and I really wonder what she will do with them.

I'm so looking forward to reading book 6.
