This is an illustration from The Rifter #40, the tenth anniversary issue of the magazine by Palladium Books.

Cap'n Jamison was one I had an immediate vision of in my head. Sometimes you'll be reading the description for the job, and BOOM! Mental image. And a pirate captain? Who doesn't love that?!

For this guy, maybe it was all the Tellos I had been reading at the time, but I saw him as a Mike Wieringo drawing.

So if you ever wanted to see 'Ringo draw a salty sailor type from the far-flung, post-apocalyptic future, then see it re-drawn in my style... well, here you go. You're welcome.

He makes me think of that Scotsman from 'Samurai Jack'. Anyway, looks good. I especially like the textured vest and hair.

Ha! That wouldn't be so bad :D And I'm glad you dig the vest and hair. Hairy guys are always super fun to draw, anyway, and I wanted to really get a nice reptile-hide vest going. Looks like it worked ;)

FanTASTIC work, man! Love the feel of the image. And great kudoes to the late Wieringo. Man, what a loss his death was. Great to see someone keeping his memory alive and well.

He was and remains a huge influence on me, and his passing only encouraged me to push harder to do the kind of work I love, and that I hope he would have appreciated and enjoyed.
