My wife, Comfort Love, and I were thinking of ways to come up with fun pin-up images, and something we settled on was the idea of doing a faux-calendar, with each image relating to a month. This was my 'October.'
Heavily influenced by the work of Adam Hughes, this piece was my attempt to try and get more color-depth in my images. I've been alright at working out space, depth of field, and aerial perspectives before, but where this differs is an actual colorization of the background lines to push the whole background away from the fore characters and space.
It was a little hit-or-miss, but I still like how it turned out. A corner has been turned, with this piece, and I'm thinking about color in a whole different way, now.
Oh, and there's a couple hot girls on a rooftop. That's fun, too.
While the lines are great. Everything is just a little to warm. It would seem to pop a little more if things were cool. Also The Moon is behind him and I understand there's a light source underneith them, you have it as though the moon is also infront of them. I'd definately recomend some more reference.
Dude, if this was any cooler, their skintones would look like zombie-flesh. The foreground is intentionally warmer to set it apart from the background. The pallete is complimentary between the red-golds and green-blues, and that means there's going to be a little more warmth. Too much cold, and it falls apart. As for the moon backlighting, there are many conflicting lightsources throughout the piece, and at the end of the day you sometimes have to cheat the lights to illuminate the foreground figures.
I may have some issues with some of what came out in this one, but to go cooler or exaggerate the backlighting would do far more damage than good.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
