This was a commission I did a couple months ago. I'm a big fan of the Brereton style, and loved his work on 'Thrillkiller' (why, oh why did DC discontinue the Elseworlds imprint?!?). I tried to get a bit of that painted style on this one, but it didn't quite gel.
And, once again, my attempts to digitally paint a background based on a photograph make it look like I just cut-and-pasted the photo into the pic. Guys like Greg Horn and Greg Land have me really paranoid about how I use photo-reference (ie: I don't want it to look like I just traced a photo!), and I'm probably being overly critical here, but what can you do?
Anyway, I kinda like how it turned out even if it wasn't quite what I'd wanted.
